Trip to Denali National Park, Alaska
July 26th – August 3rd 2015
Sunday, Day 1 – Got into Anchorage at 1:45pm but had to wait for the shuttle. I walked around looking for an AAA representative but couldn’t find one, so I called the number I had and left a message. Aaron called me and apologized for forgetting me and a shuttle would be there close to 4pm. It wasn’t a problem, the airport was cool. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, starring Ben Stiller, changed my life. If you haven’t seen it, do! There’s a scene in which Walter runs to a waiting helicopter and jumps on while David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” is playing, and that did it. I decided to jump on as many helicopters as I could.
Within a week I had deemed Iceland would take too long to prepare for, so I booked a week-long trip to Alaska and hike in Denali. Looks like I have some shopping, work-outs, and planning to do!
